Lancaster University Computer Science Graduate looking to develop a career in the game development industry

Unity, C#, Group Project (7 people), 1 month
Adopt and raise one out of three different monsters. Feed, groom, play and choose how you respond to their actions to make sure they grow up ready to scare the world. Each monster has a favourite food, disliked food and a unique minigame, making up to 5 different minigames to be played. Decorate the house with a variety of furniture by spending coins earned from minigames.
I was the main programmer for this project and so organized what each programmer would be doing and made most of the game systems, including:
- Monster AI
- Monster interactions
- 2 of the minigames (wolf dress up, scare game)
- UI programming
- Item systems
- Decision making systems
- Scene transitions
This project was a submission in the Buddy Up Game Jam.
Nightmare Tower Defence
Unity, C#, Group Project (3 people), 1 week
Nightmare creatures try to reach your bed to destory it. You must stop them by using traps and paper airplanes. Inspired by Orks Must Die.
There are 2 levels and 3 traps:
- Pillow wall: blocks enemy’s paths
- Lego bricks: damages enemies over time
- Slime trap: slows enemies
I made the character controller, UI, the second level and the health, resource and enemy wave spawning systems. This game was an entry to the College Game Jam.
Islands RTS (WIP)
Unity, C#, Individual Project
This is a work in progress project. The idea is an RTS style game with islands that the player can expand to increase the land they have to work with. There will also be other islands drifting by that the player can acquire to unlock more resources to collect. Enemies will attack in waves with prep time between each wave with the goal being to survive as long as possible.
Currently I have made the:
- A* pathfinding
- Group selection
- Extra island placement
- Buildings
- Building specific menus and basic UI
- Resource collecting and spending
- Unit spawning
- RTS style Camera movement
